Description

KIM PEYTON (1957-86): 8 1/2 x 11" program for the 1976 Oregon athletic awards ceremony
hand-autographed by Kim, who that night was named Oregon's  athlete of the year.  I was at the ceremony and Kim signed the program for me, as did 49ers QB John Brodie; pro golfer Pat Fitzsimons; Oregon State football coach Craig Fertig, and University of Oregon-NBA star Ron Lee. It has been in my personal collection since that  time. Kim's greatest moment was still to come, but by this point she was already  a world class swimmer, winning a total of five gold medals at two Pan American
Games.  In the summer of 1976 she won an Olympic Gold as part of the USA 4x100 freestyle relay team. Kim was as bubbling and optimistic a person as you could ever find, and she died tragically in 1986 after a fight with brain cancer.
In very good to excellent condition.
